The Isla String Quartet were announced as Tillett Debut Artists 2025-27 and subsequently are looking forward to performances around the UK in the next couple of seasons, in venues including Conway Hall, Abergavenny Theatre and Kings Lynn Festival. They won the Royal College of Music Quartet Competition 2025, the inaugural Royal Academy of Music Nina Drucker Haydn String Quartet Competition 2024, and were finalists at the Royal Over-Seas League Competition 2025.
Notable collaborations include performing Mozart’s B-flat major String Quintet with renowned violist and composer Brett Dean at the Calne Music and Arts Festival 2024, and Brahms’ Piano Quintet with Ryan Wigglesworth at Smith Square Hall. As Britten Pears Young Artists 2023-24, they gave a lunchtime recital at Aldeburgh Jubilee Hall at the end of their Chamber Music Residency, receiving coaching from Alasdair Beatson. They gave the European premier of Paola Prestini’s ‘The Red Book’ at the Virtuoso&Belcanto Festival 2025.
The Isla String Quartet formed in 2023 at the Royal Academy of Music, and receive regular coaching from John Myerscough, cellist of the renowned Doric String Quartet. They have also enjoyed learning from chamber music specialists including the Marmen Quartet, Heime Müller, Lawrence Power, Hélène Clement, Ying Xue, and Marc Danel, at the Schiermonnikoog Festival 2025.
The Isla Quartet is a 2025 Tillett Debut Artist and can be booked for concerts taking place between September 2025 - August 2027.
