Hyde Quartet

Formed in 2020, the Hyde Quartet is a dynamic clarinet ensemble comprising current RCM students and alumni. They are currently awardees of the Countess of Munster Musical Trust's recital scheme, and they have recently been selected to play in the Bloomsbury Festival next season. They are on the Kings Place Young Artist Platform and were previously Tunnell Trust award holders in 2025-2026, with whom they enjoyed their tour across Scotland in Lanark, Gatehouse of Fleet and Falkirk. As a continuation they will be returning in October 2026, as well as performing in various other festivals such as at Christ Church in Hertfordshire. In 2024 and 2025, they were finalists of the Royal Overseas League Mixed Ensemble Competition, and their other most recent highlights include performing at Chipping Campden Music Festival, Cerne Abbas Music Festival in Dorchester, and at Brocklesby Hall.

The Hyde Quartet have played at prestigious venues such as The Crypt in St John's Smith Square and the Royal Albert Hall Elgar Rooms. They have won the June Emerson Wind Music Launchpad Prize, and also were honoured to win the Boconnoc Music Award, where they performed various recitals at Boconnoc House and its surrounding area as part of their chamber residency. Since then, they have won the Royal College of Music Ensemble Competition 2024.

The quartet expresses its gratitude for the opportunity to engage with children in primary schools throughout the southern region of England through the Deal Music and Arts outreach programme. They are committed to inspiring young musicians to actively participate and appreciate a diverse range of musical genres.
