Bridget Yee, piano

Described by the Lucerne Festival as “a pianist who does not fit into any mold,” Malaysian pianist Bridget Yee is recognised for performances of imagination, intensity and emotional depth. Her programming brings fresh perspective to core repertoire, placing canonical works alongside contemporary voices with a distinctive sense of narrative and curiosity.

Upcoming highlights include her solo recital debut at the Wigmore Hall in 2027, following recent solo debuts at the Lucerne Festival and the Royal Mile International Piano Series in Edinburgh. Her concerto appearances include Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G with the National Symphony Orchestra of Malaysia at the Petronas Philharmonic Hall, and her performances have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and France Inter. Recent engagements have also included performances at the Chelsea Flower Show with Steinway & Sons, filmed by the BBC. Festival appearances include the Aspen Music Festival (United States), Euregio Music Festival (Germany) and En Blanc et Noir Festival (France).

Winner of the Beecham International Piano Competition and the Windsor International Piano Competition, she was also a keyboard finalist in BBC Young Musician. She has appeared at leading venues including Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall, Harris Hall and Ägerihalle.

In 2026, Bridget completed a three-year residency with the Riot Ensemble, supported by the Art Mentor Foundation Lucerne. During the residency, she gave the world premiere of Alexander Papp’s Duo Concerto, later broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Other projects have included complete performances of Kurtág’s Játékok at London’s Duke’s Hall.

Bridget is the current recipient of the Royal Philharmonic Society Julius Isserlis Scholarship, the Rupert Heggs Award, the Hattori Foundation Senior Award and the Derek Butler Munster Trust Award. She is an artist of The Keyboard Trust and the Countess of Munster Trust Recital Scheme, and is supported by the Drake Calleja Trust.

She is currently pursuing postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Christopher Elton as an ABRSM full scholarship recipient. Her mentors include Michel Béroff and Ng Chong Lim.
